Watermore 10k – A Marshalls Report
On the 27 September many of the Frampton Harriers ran the Watermore 10K to raise money for Watermore Primary School. Unfortunately I was too late to enter the race myself so decided to offer my help as a marshal.
We all met at the school and I was told where to go, I was stationed at Harris Barton with Lorna. As we walked to Harris Barton we were able to cheer on the front runners as they passed us, once in position we stopped traffic to allow runners to pass and made sure everyone took the right turn. Several cars and a bus refused to slow down or stop but luckily no one was hurt.
We cheered all the runners and hopefully kept their spirits up some even gave us a hug. Many local people came to watch and show their support for the local community.
When all the runners had come through Harris Barton, Lorna and I headed back to the school and meet the runners. I think next year I will run the Watermore 10k
It was great to see so many Frampton Harriers and others supporting a local school as well as keeping fit and having fun.
